Agencement
Orchestral Works 1
"This work begins with an echo that feels like a return to my first LP.
It's a very slight similarity from the late 1980s when I first started making independent records. Of course, that wasn't the main focus. This time, l used an orchestral approach, incorporating violas and cellos, changing frequencies, and even having Al handle the wind/brass instruments. My "Agencement" projects usually took nearly a year from recording to mixing, but this time I completed it in the winter of 2025/2026. This new orchestral approach will likely continue intermittently, evolving in form in the future. Listen." - Hideaki Shimada, Spring 2026 credits
All music composed and played by Hideaki Shimada - violin, viola, cello and electronics, except clarinet on 1 and trumpet on 2 by Al Margolis.
Recorded and mixed at Kubo Studio, Kanazawa and at Pogus, Chester NY in winter 2025/2026.
Original art work by Hideaki Shimada.
Graphic design and layout by Max Eastman.
